Photographic restoration and services

Images will be ranked in one of three restoration categories: minor, moderate, or major. (Follow the bold links to view sample work in a new window.)

Minor restoration is qualified by scratches, dots, or dusts on the image.
Moderate restoration is qualified by stains, fading, or other discoloration of the image, or creases in the actual print that affect the quality of the image. (Any necessary minor restoration will also be performed at this level.)
Major restoration is qualified by distinct tears or rips in the print, writing or scribbling on the image, or portions of the image that have been otherwise removed from the actual print. (Any nessecary minor and / or moderate restoration will also be performed at this level.)

Minor work will be charged at $25 per image, moderate work at $50 per image, and major work at a base rate of $75 per image, with an additional $10 per hour should work on the image exceed two hours. This additional charge will require customer approval.

Colorizing images will start at a base fee of $10 per image, with the final quote based on the size of the image to be colorized, as well as the amount of the image to be colorized.

Editing photos involved the addition or removal of content from an image. As with colorizing, editing photos will start at a base fee of $10 per image, with the final quote based on the size of the image and the amount of content to be editted.

These prices are based on the customer providing a scanned / digital copy of the photo to be serviced, either on CD or via e-mail. It is recommended that the customer provide this copy, as transfer of valuable family photographs through physical delivery services (UPS, Post Office) always carries a certain degree of risk. A scanned resolution of at least 600 dpi is required to ensure quality editing of images, as well as creating quality prints.

Should the customer not have access to a scanner, we can scan their photograph(s), for a fee of $2 per image. Final images can be sent back to the customer via e-mail, or can be burned to CD for a fee of $4 per CD, and this would include shipping, handling, and a CD jewel case. Shipping for their original photos would be in a method similar to how we received it, and will be billed to the customer separately.
